Project Description
Sister Nelly Leon Correa is a Catholic nun living in Santiago, Chile, where she is the president and co-founder of Fundación Mujer Levántate (Woman Standing Up Foundation) an NGO that assists incarcerated women within and beyond prison. An extraordinary humanitarian figure, Sister Nelly has dedicated her life to fostering social justice and supporting vulnerable women to rebuild their lives.
In 2024, Sister Nelly was honoured with the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, a testament to her remarkable efforts in promoting compassion and respect for all people. This moving film, created for the Award ceremony, invites us into Sister Nelly’s world to hear a story of the transformative power of empathy and the determination to bridge divides.
